How to elope – Vegas style

This question comes across my email more than anything else. Clients want to know what their options are for wedding in Sin City – and the truth is – the possibilities are absolutely endless. I’ve had clients that have married in elegant chapels, big country clubs, on a street corner downtown, in the middle of the desert – the list goes on and on. This post is just a quick smattering of the different looks your wedding can take on here in Las Vegas. My style adapts to your vision – there’s not really a single way that I shoot – we can go bright and bold, or pastel and airy. You can be classic and timeless, or you can say “I do” with Elvis as your officiant. It would be my pleasure to connect with you and discuss your vision. ♥

For my clients that are eloping and want to keep things simple (because isn’t that why everyone runs away to Vegas to get married?!) it can often feel overwhelming to choose between so many options. I can share full galleries with you and go over pros and cons for each spot. I can help you find the perfect officiant to celebrate your connection and the perfect florist to fit with your vision. And if you need an Elvis impersonator, I can recommend one of those, too! So, poke around the blog, find some locations that are calling your name, and then call me so we can brainstorm some ideas together!

The Gettos | 2 Hour Wedding | Downtown Elopement

I have a secret. Downtown Las Vegas has won my heart. Hands down. It is full of quirky murals and happy passersby. It’s easy to get to, super walkable and makes for some seriously classic images. Chris and Mary eloped from SoCal and officially tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel – my favorite chapel for elopements, especially when you want to hit up the drive thru. The planning for their session was a whirlwind of trying to find the perfect car to rent, picking out the best backdrops for their post-ceremony session and squeezing in a last minute booking at the Neon Museum. I am always happy to walk my clients through the process and help them get everything booked in so the day goes off without a hitch!

Driving up to make it officially official!

A real, live bouquet toss. Don’t worry, the bouquet was not harmed in the making of this series.

He nailed this jump. On. The. First. Try.

Now it’s your turn! Let’s plan your big day – whether it’s downtown or not – and let’s make it perfect! I’d be honored to photograph your ceremony and then celebrate with even more fun images that you’ll treasure forever! Call me. ♥

The Marques’ | 2 hour wedding | The Strip

Michael and Taylor officially tied the knot at San Francisco City Hall before they came to Vegas, and threw a big party here in town for their friends and family to celebrate their union. After a few getting ready pictures in their suite, we headed down to the Strip to walk alongside the Bellagio Fountains before wrapping up our evening on the private patio at Picasso. There are so many different ways to celebrate your marriage here in Las Vegas – and this is yet another example. Lots of my clients envision quick elopement sessions downtown with yours truly as the witness (and yes, we can definitely do that!), but we can also celebrate anniversaries and milestones and anything else you can think of. The beauty of Vegas is that there’s no one way to do it “right.” You can absolutely do it your way, and it would be my honor to capture the day for you, no matter what that means to you and yours.

That ring and those shoes… #sparkleparty

The view from Bellagio never disappoints.

To be honest, they both had great taste in footwear…

Helping his bride untangle her earrings from her hair. True love.

Picasso views don’t disappoint, either.

Now it’s your turn! No matter what you have planned, I want to hear about it. Call me or click below – I can’t wait to hear from you. ♥

The Williams’ | 2 Hour Wedding | Las Vegas Strip

The love between Seth and Jamie is damn near palpable. Just look at how they look at each other! I loved hearing their story and capturing a Vegas wedding with a little bit of tradition (like getting ready shots!). Elopements don’t always lend themselves to the detail shots and quieter moments, but this one did – including the most adorable flower girl.

See? Totally adorable!

Helping with the bride’s shoes is a must!

Check out those socks, and of course, Jamie’s glittery Keds! Now it’s your turn – I would be thrilled to capture your wedding day – whether it’s a small elopement for just the two of you or a family affair. Call me and tell me all about the details! ♥

The Coopers | Little White Chapel | 2 Hour Wedding

A favorite combination of mine for small elopements is the Little White Chapel combined with pretty much anything downtown. It’s a great way to have a fun and intimate ceremony, while still getting artistic shots for your wall. Enjoy! ♥

Now it’s your turn – whether you want to get married at a chapel or elsewhere – let’s create some amazing images!

The Burchs | Sunset Gardens | 2 Hour Wedding

Ryan and Sarah came to Vegas to get married at one of the prettiest off-Strip chapels we have here in Vegas – Sunset Gardens. They had the most intimate group of friends and family with them, and their afternoon ceremony was both peaceful and filled with laughs. Ceremonies here are short and sweet, and always heartfelt. It’s a great choice if you want a Vegas wedding but you aren’t looking for a “traditional Vegas experience” (meaning, pink Cadillacs and Elvis as your officiant).

Right after the first look.

One of my favorite angles at this chapel! ♥

Giving his beautiful daughter away.

Giggling through the ceremony is highly underrated.

Party time!

Now it’s your turn! Wherever you’re getting married, we can create some beautiful images together. I can’t wait to hear your story!

The Mordts | Chapel | Neon Museum | 2 Hour Wedding

Fly all the way to Vegas from Norway? Check.

Get married at the same chapel where your parents were married 27 years ago? Check.

Have Elvis help you tie the knot? Check.

Quickie photo shoot at the Neon Museum? Check.

Celebrate with burgers afterwards because In-N-Out is awesome? Check.

Yep – Elvis hams it up just for the camera. That’s good stuff.

I do love a good last name in letters. If you want this for yourself, just ask me!

Right after this, a full standing ovation happened in the restaurant. The girl on the right started it… Apparently, burgers and being married go nicely together!

Now it’s your turn! ♥ Call me and let’s make your elopement epic!

The Najars | Paiute Golf Resort | Vow Renewal

Contrary to popular belief, Vegas weddings aren’t always just about Elvis and bright lights. Sometimes they’re all about celebrating 10 years of marriage with the love of your life and your closest friends and family in tow, with the beautiful mountains of the Vegas valley behind you. And today, that’s exactly what these two did – they celebrated and shared their joy with the most intimate group of people that love them. The ceremony was short and sweet, and so very heartfelt. Albert and Jenn had their beautiful daughter with them, and you can see her happiness in their photos, too! 10 years looks great on you guys – and here’s to another 10 (and many more after that!).

Those are the faces of two people very much still in love! Those smiles were around all night!

And you can see where their little one gets it from – she was so happy to hug mom and dad after the ceremony. ♥

The views out here are phenomenal. Well worth the drive if you want open desert sky!

I think riding in the golf cart is just one of the perks of getting married at Paiute. Assuming you don’t fall out of the golf cart, like we almost did. But we didn’t, so now it’s a funny story.

Now it’s your turn! Whether you want a more traditional location like this, or a rock ‘n roll downtown elopement – I say “let’s do it!” Call me anytime, or click below for a link directly to my contact form – I can’t wait to hear from you!

The Sels’ | Downtown Las Vegas | 2 Hour Wedding

Dries and Sien wanted an intimate elopement with none other than Elvis to officiate the ceremony. His arrival via motorcycle was just a bonus. We chose one of the last remaining Las Vegas Sign murals in downtown Las Vegas as their backdrop, and two of their friends attended as guests. They wanted to hit several of my favorite spots for photos afterwards, so we carefully chose a route and they rented a convertible so they could easily follow me around town and jump in and out for all the shots they wanted to capture! This is a glimpse into their day and a few of my favorite shots.

Her bouquet was perfect for this intimate elopement.

That wooden bow tie though! Such a cool detail.

Exchanging rings – always a moment to remember, and a favorite of mine to photograph.

Cheers!! Now it’s time to drink champagne and eat macaroons!!

We ended the night with a classic Vegas stop at The Plaza – a favorite for clients wanting a canopy of lights overhead. ♥ I adore these shots, and would love to create some for you, too!

So let’s do it! If you want to hit ALL the places and shoot ALL the things, we can make that happen, in a short period of time! I can help with a timeline, and logistics, and even suggestions for an officiant. Planning a Vegas elopement is supposed to be easy, but with so many details and most of my clients being from out of town (or overseas!), it never hurts to have your photographer on your side! I would love to help you figure it all out – so call me!!

Happy New Year!

Yay! This week marks the week that I get to add a brand new calendar to my wall and start scribbling all of my wild and crazy ideas and to-dos into my new planner. It’s one of my favorite times of the year. Everything feels shiny and new, and full of hope and promise. Mostly because I get all new pens and sticky notes! I am already filling up my calendar for 2017 with pretty blue sticky notes for my wedding clients, and hot pink sticky notes for my boudoir girls. If you’ve been on the fence about reaching out, now is the time! I would love nothing more than to give you your very own sticky note on your very own date. And then scribble a bunch of stuff about you in my planner. Is that weird? I hope not. Let’s be friends!!

Happy New Year – may 2017 be everything we want it to be!
