Amie and Alex’s colorful Downtown Vegas engagement session shows how a Vegas engagement photographer can make your photos playful, intimate, and stress-free.
Amie and Alex showed up ready to have fun, and their Downtown Las Vegas engagement session was everything you’d hope for – colorful, lighthearted, and full of laughter. These two have such an easy energy together. Photographing them felt more like hanging out with old friends than doing a photo shoot.
Their story started way back in high school, when they ran in the same circles but never quite connected. That changed at a friend’s birthday party, where Alex spotted Amie across a crowded room. In a burst of excitement, he picked her up off the ground. That moment turned into a stumble, then a fall, and somehow, a first kiss right there in the street. From that night on, they were inseparable.
Las Vegas Engagement Session – Keeping the Vibe Relaxed and Personal
When they reached out about doing their engagement session in Las Vegas, I knew it was going to be a good time. They flew in from Maryland to explore Downtown. We spent the afternoon wandering through murals, bright buildings, and those hidden corners that make Downtown Vegas so unique. The goal was to make it feel relaxed and personal, so we kept things simple. I gave them plenty of space to just be themselves. I guided them the whole way so they never felt stiff or unsure about what to do.
That’s one thing I always tell my couples – you don’t have to know how to pose or perform. I’ll help you every step of the way, and we’ll get those real, unposed moments that feel like you. Amie and Alex trusted the process completely, and because of that, their session flowed so naturally.
They wanted to keep their outfits casual and comfortable, with one statement piece that made everything pop. Amie’s custom jacket from Daily Disco totally nailed it and added a fun personal touch.
Somewhere along the way, we got word that Amie’s stepdad had “accidentally” gotten lost on the way to the shoot and ended up at a casino. We’re all pretty sure was an excuse to head straight for Fremont Street. It became one of those running jokes that had everyone laughing for the rest of the evening.
Engagement Session – The Experience
Amie told me she first found my work by searching Instagram for Vegas engagement sessions and loved the bright, candid energy she saw in the photos. She said she wanted to experience the city that way – real, vibrant, and full of personality. By the end of the shoot, we had done exactly that.

Home of sparkly jumpsuits, all-white suits, and pre-wedding photoshoots. Downtown Las Vegas has it all! Thomas and Amanda walked down Fremont Street from their posh downtown Las Vegas accommodations, drinks in hand and ready to shoot. These two traveled here from Canada and tied the knot at A Little White Wedding Chapel. We met up about 90 minutes before their ceremony and squeezed in a quick and fun session to celebrate their elopement.
Pre- or post-wedding sessions are gaining in popularity in Las Vegas, as quickie chapel weddings often include a few images and cheesy photography – but my clients typically want a more fun and modern take on their wedding day to preserve the memories of the afternoon.
Love story
Thomas and Amanda met at her workplace, after his work truck broke down. And the rest is history! They had both been married before and wanted this elopement to be just about them – and it was!
Elopement Style
Thomas and Amanda were looking for a candid-style session with a vintage feel. Downtown is perfect for that old-Vegas look. For their ceremony, Amanda wanted a cheesy yet classy elopement. (Yes, it can be done! Ask me for tips!)
Amanda told me, “I love sparkle and classy…so we went with a white tux for the Mr. and a sparkly romper for the Mrs . . . “
A favorite moment of hers? “Tom crying when he saw me being walked down the aisle by Elvis.” Classic Vegas, baby. ❤
They ended the night with matching “7” tattoos. Amanda said, “We wanted to commemorate the date we got married and well . . . we were in Vegas, so “lucky 7s” were a must!”
