Hey, I’m Deidra, a Las Vegas photographer specializing in fun, intimate weddings and authentic family sessions. I’m devoted to sharing my knowledge with my clients to help you customize an experience that feels easy and fun.
Over the last 15+ years as a professional photographer, I’ve learned that most of my clients need some guidance and help when planning a wedding or photo shoot. Most of my sessions are small and intimate and don’t require a planner or coordinator. That means that I often end up stepping into that role in many ways, which has turned out to be one of the things I love the most about my work. I have photographed hundreds of weddings, elopements and families over the years, including clients from all over the world. This experience has allowed me to become intimately familiar with the locations here in Las Vegas, from the best time of day for the perfect light, to the permit and insurance requirements needed for each spot.
I know all the best venues, and I have a handful of officiants that I adore and can recommend without hesitation. Whether you want to get married out in the desert or on the street corners of downtown, I can send you several specific options to choose from, and help you navigate the planning process for each. When it comes time to book florals or hair and makeup, or Elvis (!!!), I can send you my favorites – the ones that show up on time and with smiles on – as excited as you are for your day. This is what I expect from myself and deliver for my clients, and so I only recommend the very best.
You’ll probably feel excited, and nervous, on the day of our session. The reality is that sessions are usually stressful in some way for the client. Whether your transportation doesn’t arrive on time, or your outfit needs last-minute repairs, or the kids are cranky (because of course they are!) – it’s always something. And it’s my job to do everything I can to mitigate that stress so that you look joyful in your images. I am always thinking ahead to what we can do if it feels like the sky is falling. This allows me to make suggestions on the fly because I’ve already been considering solutions behind the scenes. I have moved timelines around (example – the chapel is running an hour behind, so we shoot family photos and a few romantics while we wait!), negotiated new transportation options when the limo didn’t show up, and even moved a date or two to squeeze clients in when flights were cancelled unexpectedly.
I like to work hard, I love to have (a lot of) fun, and I live to create timeless images that speak to your heart. Most of my clients are nervous about exactly how I can make that happen. And I tell them - I will be there to coach you through the session from beginning to end. I’ll show you poses, help you feel like a natural, and crack a few jokes along the way. It certainly won’t feel like you’re standing there awkwardly and saying "cheese" for 2 hours. I love it when I hear someone tell me, “That wasn’t that hard,” because getting married and being photographed should be fun!
Everyone's story is different. Everyone's life is full of desire and meaning. And everyone deserves to have their story told; passionately, and without restraint, just as we strive to live our lives. I love that I'm able to capture the moments that make up real life and preserve them for the remarkable people that I work with. Simply put, I love people and I adore their stories. You are the reason that I am a photographer. And I can't wait to meet you, discover your story and help you tell it in an extraordinary way.
